Movie posters of the 1960's that were sent to theater owners were supposed to be
returned to the National Screen Service (the manufacturers of the posters) or destroyed
after being used to promote the movie. Many times the items gathered dust in theater
basements or were taken home by patrons or employees.

This particular example of an original 1965 "HELP!" movie poster
never saw the light of day of distribution !

Measuring 27" X 42", standard one-sheet movie posters were sent to
theatres pre-folded. This beauty has remained folded since it's manufacturing,
and the permanent folds in this example are so very faint and hardly noticeable,
for it never had that wear over age to have been opened and closed numerous times.

Furthermore, to preserve this unique and stunning example,
we have had the poster professionally preserved -
adhered to an acid-free woven linen backing. This prevents
the poster from obtaining wrinkles, tears and truly relieved the faint
fold marks more so. Also, this linen backing is the best procedure
for having the poster framed, if one wishes.

The material utilized on the "HELP!"  one sheets was different than the
regular flat paper stock on the "A Hard Day's Night"  one sheets.
The 1965 posters were on a "glossy" stock and radiates a beautiful sheen !

A two-part number was always issued by the National Screen Service to
every movie in the United States. The number for HELP!   is 65/293.
The first number (65) is the year of release - 1965. The second number (293) is the
unique number issued to a movie that year. Before we had the poster
preserved onto the linen backing, we photographed the area of the blank side of the poster,
displaying the official stamp, dictating the authenticity of this one-sheet " 1 - SH." :
